Harbormasters Activities
We plan and conduct chapter activities that will accomplish the following :
- Provide an enjoyable time of singing and fellowship for each member and guest
- Develop and enhance the musical knowledge and singing abilities of each chapter member, of the chapter chorus, of chapter quartets and of youth groups when such opportunities arise
- Enrich our community and promote public appreciation for barbershop harmony and for the Harbormasters through public appearances to entertain outside groups and to support worthy community events
- Perpetuate and promote the a-capella, four-part, close harmony vocal music known as barbershop, and encourage other men to join us in this endeavor.
- Support the objectives, activities and policies of SPEBSQSA and the Dixie District
- Support selected charitable causes with our time, our talent and our money, as we are able.
To carry out these objectives we engage in these typical activities:
- Performances at retirement and nursing homes.
- Performances at local charitable and civic events.
- Entertainment at private functions.
- Delivery of Singing Valentines with flowers or candy.
- Presentation of formal (ticketed) shows and some free shows.
- Participation with other chourses in their shows.
- Attendance at Society enrichment and training retreats
